What a collision!

In an era of hockey where there seems to be a focus on removing as much of the game's physicality as humanly possible, Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson feels like a breath of fresh air.

Wilson has become one of the most consistently physical players in the league and when he brings the body he tends to do so in absolutely spectacular fashion, Thursday night was no exception.

With his Capitals facing off against a young and talented New Jersey Devils team, Wilson looked to send a message roughly mid way through the second period by delivering a monstrous body check to Devils' forward Brian Gibbons.

The collision looked incredible, and it quickly drew the ire of Devils' veteran Brian Boyle who quickly challenged Wilson to drop the gloves. Wilson accepted but it wasn't much of a fight, the hit was clearly the highlight on this sequence.

To Gibbons' credit, he didn't miss a single shift after shaking off the cobwebs.
