There was a bizarre incident on Friday night, one that the Pittsburgh Penguins didn't like very much.
During the second period of what was a very tense game between the Washington Capitals and the aforementioned Penguins, Capitals forward Brett Connolly struck and trapped Penguins goaltender Matt Murray with his own net.
Now to be fair to Connolly, the replay doesn't show the fact that he was very obviously trying to make a quick cut back up the ice, but that's little consolation to Murray and the Penguins.
At the following face off Penguins enforcer Ryan Reaves was immediately chatting up Capitals star Alexander Ovechkin, presumably sending him a message and the game continued to have a playoff atmosphere following the incident.
