The Boston Bruins have confirmed they will be down a man on Monday afternoon when they face off against the Calgary Flames at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

According to an official report from the Bruins organization, head coach Bruce Cassidy has confirmed that veteran defenseman Kevan Milelr will remain out of the line up today.

The 30-year-old blue liner was the team leader in hits on the season prior to missing several consecutive games due to what the Bruins are calling an upper-body injury. Today's absence would make eight consecutive games missed due to the injury for Miller.

While healthy Miller has appeared in 44 games for the Bruins on the season and despite playing primarily on the Bruins third defensive pairing he has been chewing up over 18 and a half minutes of ice time a night. His absence is definitely one that the Bruins have been feeling over their past several matches.

Miller has 1 goal and 9 assists for a total of 10 points on the season and he has 56 penalty minutes and a plus/minus rating of +9 to go along with it. No word on when he is expected to return.
