Oilers make a trade!

We have a trade to report in the National Hockey League.

According to an official report from the Tampa Bay Lightning's website, general manager Steve Yzerman has confirmed that the Lightning have completed a relatively minor trade with the Edmonton Oilers franchise.

The trade will see the Oilers send 27-year-old goaltender Eddie Pasquale to the Tampa Bay Lightning and the return for the Oilers at this time is currently unclear. The Lightning are officially reporting the return to Edmonton as "future considerations" but we expect we will have more details on that shortly, so feel free to keep refreshing the article as we will be providing updates.

Eddie Pasquale is a career minor-league goaltender having spent all of his time as a professional in the Ontario Hockey League, the East Coast Hockey League and the American Hockey League.

In his most recent season he has played for the Bakersfield Condors of the AHL, appearing in 17 games while recording a 2.60 goals against average and a .910 save percentage over that stretch of play.

The Lightning likely have made this deal to secure their depth in goal in the event that they suffer a number of goalie injuries during a potential run to the Stanley Cup.

More to come.
